With a vision to create the next generation of online banking, SDC alongside Isobar set out to build a new online banking solution working as a communication platform.
The project scope
Finding ourselves in a time where customers are paying fewer visits to the physical banks and taking care of their everyday tasks directly from their smartphones, traditional banks are facing challenges in reaching their customers.
So the banks needed a new way to communicate and provide their services to the customers. Ultimately this resulted in three solutions: A module based websites for the banks to structure and build themselves, a responsive online banking solution and a mobile app - for both private and business customers. All connected through Sitecore.
The core of the projects challenge
SDC (Skandinavisk data center) is an IT company providing financial services for 120 smaller banks across Scandinavia. Building an online banking solution for 120 banks, also meant building it for different companies with diverse business needs and different products of their own.
Furthermore, the solution aimed to assist 3600 users - including various business- and private user types. Through this project, it was essential to give enough flexibility for the banks to let their brand, business and products stand out. At the same time we had the responsibility of not over-complicating the solution, and still meet the most essential needs of all the user types.
My role
Participating in this project led me to be involved in a variety of different UX related activities - such as concept development, sketching, wireframing, prototyping, user testing and workshop facilitation. On a daily basis I was, together with the team, responsible for detailing features, wireframing, writing user stories and preparing for development sprints. This also meant that I had a lot of sparring and collaboration across all the participants of the team - both developers, designers and project managers. Furthermore, I facilitated and participated in workshops, meetings, stand ups and countless of talks with the client through the entire project gaining knowledge about their industry and learning to consult them in the best way possible.
Overall, the project allowed me to acquire extensive experience in working with ux on a big complex project - at same time as navigating on a big team setup.
